Quick Start Guide
Get started with Archivus in 5 minutes. Learn how to upload documents, search, and chat with your documents.
Step 1: Sign Up
- Go to archivus.app
- Click “Sign Up” or “Get Started”
- Enter your email and create a password
- Verify your email (check your inbox)
Free Plan Includes:
- 25 documents
- 500 MB storage
- 10 AI credits per month
- Basic AI features
Step 2: Upload Your First Document
Method 1: Drag and Drop
- Go to your Dashboard
- Drag and drop a file onto the dashboard
- Wait for processing (usually 30-60 seconds)
Method 2: Upload Button
- Click the Upload button in the sidebar
- Select files from your computer
- Click Upload
Method 3: From Chat
- Open Archie Chat (sidebar or
/chatpage) - Click the upload icon in the chat input
- Select your file
Supported Formats:
- PDF (up to 500 MB)
- Word documents (.docx, .doc)
- Text files (.txt, .md)
- Images (.jpg, .png, .tiff) - OCR supported
- Spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xls)
- PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt)
Step 3: Search Your Documents
Basic Search
- Click Search in the sidebar (or press
Cmd+K) - Type your search query
- Results appear instantly
Semantic Search
- Go to the Search page
- Select “Semantic” mode
- Type a natural language query like “contracts expiring soon”
- Archivus finds documents by meaning, not just keywords
Example Queries:
- “Find all invoices from last month”
- “Documents about employee benefits”
- “Contracts expiring in Q4”
Step 4: Chat with Your Documents
- Click “Archie Chat” in the sidebar (or go to
/chat) - Add documents to the chat (click document selector)
- Ask questions like:
- “What is this document about?”
- “What are the key terms?”
- “When does this contract expire?”
Archie will:
- Answer your questions
- Provide source citations
- Show confidence scores
- Remember context in the conversation
Step 5: Organize Your Documents
Create Folders
- Click “New Folder” button
- Name your folder (e.g., “Contracts”, “Invoices”)
- Drag documents into folders
Use Tags
- Open a document
- Click “Tags” or “Add Tag”
- Add tags like “important”, “Q4-2025”, “legal”
- AI can also auto-tag documents
AI Auto-Tagging
Documents are automatically tagged by AI based on content:
- Document type (contract, invoice, report)
- Topics and themes
- Important entities (people, dates, amounts)
