Overview
Studio is your creative workspace for generating new documents using AI. Instead of starting from scratch, leverage your existing documents to create reports, summaries, analyses, and more.
Access Studio: Click Studio in the sidebar or press G then S.

Create new documents from your existing document library:
- AI-Powered Generation - Describe what you want, and AI creates it
- Source Documents - Select documents to use as context
- Multiple Formats - Generate reports, summaries, comparisons, and more
- Template Support - Save and reuse document structures

- Generate an executive summary from multiple meeting notes
- Create a comparison report between two contracts
- Synthesize research findings into a structured report

Getting Started with Compose
Step 1: Open Studio
Navigate to Studio from the sidebar or use the command palette (Cmd+K then type “Studio”).
Step 2: Select Source Documents
Choose which documents should inform your new document:
- Click Select Documents
- Search or browse your library
- Select one or more documents
- Documents provide context for AI generation
Step 3: Describe Your Output
Tell the AI what you want to create:
- Be specific about the format (report, summary, email, etc.)
- Specify the audience (executive, technical, general)
- Include any specific requirements or sections needed
- Mention the desired length or detail level
Good prompt examples:
“Create an executive summary of the quarterly reports, highlighting key metrics and trends. Keep it under 500 words.”
“Generate a comparison table between Contract A and Contract B, focusing on pricing, terms, and obligations.”
“Draft a client email summarizing the project status based on the recent meeting notes.”
Step 4: Review and Refine
Once generated:
- Review the output in the preview pane
- Make edits directly if needed
- Request AI refinements (“make it more formal”, “add more detail”)
- Download or save to your document library
Best Practices
Selecting Source Documents
- Relevance matters - Only include documents related to your output
- Quality over quantity - 3-5 focused documents work better than 20 loosely related ones
- Recent documents - AI uses the most current information from your sources

Troubleshooting
Generation fails or times out
- Reduce source documents - Try with fewer documents
- Simplify prompt - Break complex requests into parts
- Check AI credits - Ensure you have available credits
Output quality is poor
- Improve source documents - Higher quality input = better output
- Be more specific - Add details to your prompt
- Iterate - Use “refine” to improve results
Documents not appearing as options
- Check processing status - Documents must be fully processed
- Verify permissions - You need read access to the documents
- Refresh the page - Recently uploaded documents may need a refresh
