Dedicated storage provides your organization with an isolated S3 bucket provisioned and managed by Archivus. This offers enhanced security and performance compared to shared storage.

Overview

With dedicated storage, Archivus provisions a dedicated AWS S3 bucket exclusively for your tenant. This provides complete bucket-level isolation, ensuring your documents are physically separated from other customers.

Requesting Dedicated Storage

Step 1: Verify Plan Eligibility

Dedicated storage is available on:

  • Team plan
  • Business plan
  • Enterprise plan

Check your current plan in Settings > Billing.

Step 2: Contact Support

Request dedicated storage by:

  1. Emailing support@archivusdms.com with subject “Dedicated Storage Request”
  2. Include your organization name and tenant subdomain
  3. Specify your preferred AWS region (optional)

Step 3: Provisioning

Our team will:

  1. Provision a dedicated S3 bucket in your preferred region
  2. Configure appropriate access policies
  3. Enable server-side encryption
  4. Set up the migration from shared storage

Step 4: Migration

Once provisioned:

  1. You’ll receive confirmation that dedicated storage is ready
  2. Migration begins automatically (zero-downtime)
  3. Monitor progress in Settings > Storage
  4. Existing documents are migrated seamlessly

Migration from Shared Storage

When transitioning from shared to dedicated storage:

  1. No downtime - Continue using Archivus normally during migration
  2. Automatic - All documents are copied to your dedicated bucket
  3. Verified - Each file is verified after transfer
  4. Cutover - Once complete, new uploads go to dedicated storage
  5. Cleanup - Shared storage files are removed after verification

Monitoring Storage Usage

View your storage metrics in Settings > Storage:

  • Total storage used - Current usage in GB
  • Document count - Number of files stored
  • Storage by type - Breakdown by file type
  • Growth trend - Storage usage over time

  1. Choose the right region - Select a region closest to your users for best performance

FAQ

Can I downgrade back to shared storage?

Yes, but this requires migrating all documents back to shared storage. Contact support to initiate this process.

Is there additional cost for dedicated storage?

Dedicated storage is included in Team, Business, and Enterprise plans. Storage usage counts against your plan’s storage quota.

Can I access the bucket directly?

No, all access is through Archivus APIs for security. For direct bucket access, consider BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket).

How is data encrypted?

All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 server-side encryption. Enterprise customers can use their own KMS keys.
