Use Archie to ask questions and get answers about your documents with AI-powered intelligence.

Overview¶
Archie is Archivus's AI assistant that understands your documents and provides answers with citations and confidence scores. Access Archie from the sidebar or via direct links.
Opening Archie¶
From Sidebar¶
- Click "Archie" in your sidebar
- Chat interface opens immediately
- Start asking questions
Via URL¶
Navigate directly with URL parameters:
/archie- Opens Archie/archie?document=doc_abc123- Opens with document attached/archie?q=Summarize- Opens and sends query
Adding Documents¶
Using @ Mentions (Recommended)¶
Type @ followed by document name:

From Document View¶
- Open a document
- Click "Ask Archie" button
- Archie opens with document attached
- Start asking questions
Asking Questions¶
Basic Questions¶
Just type and press Enter:
- "What is this document about?"
- "What are the key terms?"
- "When does this contract expire?"
- "Who are the parties involved?"
Follow-up Questions¶
Archie remembers context:
You: What is this contract about?
Archie: [Provides summary]
You: What are the payment terms?
Archie: [Answers based on context]
Multi-Document Questions¶
With multiple documents attached:
- "Compare these two contracts"

Understanding Answers¶
Confidence Scores¶
Each answer includes a confidence score (0.0-1.0):

| < 0.5 | May need rephrasing |
Source Citations¶
Answers include citations:
- Document name
- Page number (if applicable)
- Text excerpt

Be Specific¶
Effective

Break down complex questions:
- "What is this document about?"

Check Sources¶
For important decisions:
- Review confidence score
- Click citations to verify
- Read original text

Troubleshooting¶
Low Confidence¶
If confidence is low (< 0.7):
- Rephrase more specifically
- Check document is fully processed
- Reference specific sections
- Break into smaller questions
No Answer¶
If Archie can't answer:
- Check document status (must be processed)
- Verify document is attached
- Try different wording
- Information may not exist in document
Slow Responses¶
If responses are slow:
- Large documents take longer
- Multiple documents increase time
- Complex analysis needs more time
- Check internet connection
